About The Position

Overseeing contracted work at our Sheridan Park Facility. Monitor compliance with HSE regulations, codes, standards, and management system requirements, including routine inspections, audits, and formal reporting. Stay current on HSE developments and trends such as regulatory changes, PPE advancements, training techniques, and industry best practices. Support risk assessment activities through development, review, and maintenance of records, and assist in interpreting applicable HSE requirements. Provide technical advice, reference materials, training, and competency monitoring for management, employees, and contractors, ensuring all required HSE training is completed. Assist management with workplace and program monitoring, coaching field teams to strengthen safety knowledge and presence. Take immediate action to stop work when imminent safety or health threats arise, and lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action follow‑up. Administer legislated HSE programs, maintain all program records, participate in HSE‑related meetings, and support the Positive Safety Incentive Program.

Requirements

  • Formal training in occupational health and safety.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an HSE Advisor implementing Health and Safety programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant Legislation and Regulations e.g. OH&S Act, Canada Labour Code, Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act, as well as the application of each to the worksite.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-risk heavy industries.
  • Experience interfacing with Control/Permit to work systems of connecting new assets to existing energized systems.
  • CRSP, CSP or equivalent designation.
  • Good working knowledge of HSE Management System Auditing.
