Senior Full Stack Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our early engineering team at Coefficient, a VC-backed SaaS startup based in the SF Bay Area. As a founding engineer, you will work alongside the founders to define product, design core frontend architecture, and develop versatile, user-centered web applications from the ground up. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience designing and building complex web applications, extensive TypeScript/JavaScript experience, and an excellent sense of web design and user experience. This is a remote-first company with a focus on hiring the best talent regardless of location.

• Work alongside the founders to define product and design core frontend architecture
• Develop versatile, user-centered web applications from the ground up
• Design and build complex web applications
• Have extensive TypeScript/JavaScript experience
• Build interactive UIs using React or similar frameworks
• Have an excellent sense of web design and are attuned to the fundamentals of user experience
• Care deeply about code quality, clean abstractions and interfaces, and processes (automated and otherwise) that enable an engineering team to ship quickly without breaking things
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Deliver complex features with little direction and thrive in an environment where a lot of responsibility rests with you
• Be passionate about joining as a founding engineer and building a company
• Bonus: Have worked at a startup and have managed engineering teams that ship product at startup pace

• 7+ years of experience designing and building complex web applications
• Extensive TypeScript/JavaScript experience
• Extensive experience building interactive UIs using React or similar frameworks
• Excellent sense of web design and are attuned to the fundamentals of user experience
• Thoughtful about software development best practices and care deeply about code quality, clean abstractions and interfaces, and processes (automated and otherwise) that enable an engineering team to ship quickly without breaking things
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Since we are a remote team, good documentation and written record are critical.
• Self-motivated, can deliver complex features with little direction, and thrive in an environment where a lot of responsibility rests with you
