Senior Frontend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our remote-first team at Coefficient, a VC-backed SaaS startup based in the SF Bay Area. As a founding engineer, you will work alongside the founders to define product, design core frontend architecture, and develop versatile, user-centered web applications from the ground up. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience designing and building complex web applications, extensive TypeScript/JavaScript experience, and excellent communication skills. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of both our product and company, and to create a new breed of data software that will make business teams orders of magnitude more productive when working with data.

• Work alongside the founders to define product, design core frontend architecture, and develop versatile, user-centered web applications from the ground up
• Design and build complex web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript and React or similar frameworks
• Ensure code quality, clean abstractions and interfaces, and processes (automated and otherwise) that enable an engineering team to ship quickly without breaking things
• Communicate effectively with the team through good documentation and written record
• Deliver complex features with little direction and thrive in an environment where a lot of responsibility rests with you
• Join as a founding engineer and build a company
• Manage engineering teams that ship product at startup pace (bonus)

• 7+ years of experience designing and building complex web applications
• Extensive TypeScript/JavaScript experience
• Extensive experience building interactive UIs using React or similar frameworks
• Excellent sense of web design and attuned to the fundamentals of user experience
• Thoughtful about software development best practices and care deeply about code quality, clean abstractions and interfaces, and processes (automated and otherwise) that enable an engineering team to ship quickly without breaking things
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Good documentation and written record are critical.
• Self-motivated, can deliver complex features with little direction, and thrive in an environment where a lot of responsibility rests with you
• Passionate about joining as a founding engineer and building a company
• Bonus: Worked at a startup and have managed engineering teams that ship product at startup pace
• Remote work experience is a plus.
