Senior Financial Aid Counselor - INTERNAL ONLY
About The Position
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for an internal only, Senior Financial Aid Counselor in the Financial Aid Office. This position will serve as a traditional financial aid counselor. In addition, the incumbent will also be responsible for the following: Manages Federal ROTC programs from the Army, Navy/Marine, and Air Force. Work includes audits of tuition and fee charges as well as communication with both on and off campus departments. Assist with administration of institutional scholarship programs. Ensures records compliance with audit requirements. Performs need analysis, verification, packaging aid and other procedures necessary to deliver financial aid to students. Counsels students and parents regarding financial aid concerns and conducts outreach programs both on and off campus.
Requirements
- Must be a current Citadel employee.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to represent the interest of the office with diplomacy.
- Strong organizational management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated data processing skills.
- Demonstrated reporting skills.
- Demonstrated data analysis skills acquired through a combination of prior work experience and education.
- Independent decision making relevant to programs administered.
- Receives limited supervision.
Nice To Haves
- Higher education financial aid experience strongly preferred.
- Fluency with ERP software like Banner.
- Fluency with reporting tools like Argos a plus.
