About The Position

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for an internal only, Senior Financial Aid Counselor in the Financial Aid Office. This position will serve as a traditional financial aid counselor. In addition, the incumbent will also be responsible for managing Federal ROTC programs from the Army, Navy/Marine, and Air Force, including audits of tuition and fee charges and communication with on and off campus departments. The role also involves assisting with the administration of institutional scholarship programs, ensuring records compliance with audit requirements, performing need analysis, verification, packaging aid, and other procedures necessary to deliver financial aid to students. The Senior Financial Aid Counselor will counsel students and parents regarding financial aid concerns and conduct outreach programs both on and off campus.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to represent the interest of the office with diplomacy.
Evidence of strong organizational management and problem-solving skills are required.
Demonstrated data processing, reporting and data analysis skills acquired through a combination of prior work experience and education.
This position will require independent decision making relevant to programs administered.
Receives limited supervision.

Nice To Haves

Higher education financial aid experience strongly preferred.
Fluency with ERP software like Banner and reporting tools like Argos a plus.
