SR Estimator - DFH Division 8
About The Position
Solid Rock Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for Division 8 commercial doors, frames, and hardware. The role prepares accurate, detailed estimates for commercial door and hardware projects by reviewing construction documents, performing material takeoffs, and developing competitive bids. The estimator is expected to manage the process independently from initial plan review through final bid submission, using Comsense to develop estimates, build project quotes, and manage estimating information. This is a full-time remote opportunity with an established team and an active project pipeline.
Requirements
- Extensive experience estimating Division 8 commercial doors, frames, and hardware.
- Strong proficiency with Comsense estimating software.
- Thorough understanding of commercial door and hardware products, applications, and specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and door hardware schedules.
- Experience with material takeoffs, hardware sets, pricing, and project bidding.
- Strong knowledge of industry manufacturers, suppliers, and product applications.
- Ability to independently manage the estimating process from start to finish.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify Division 8 project requirements.
- Prepare detailed estimates for commercial doors, frames, hardware, and related openings.
- Perform material takeoffs, hardware scheduling, and cost analysis.
- Use Comsense to develop estimates, build project quotes, and manage estimating information.
- Interpret door and hardware schedules, specifications, and architectural details.
- Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier pricing to support competitive, accurate bids.
- Coordinate with vendors, general contractors, and internal teams throughout the estimating process.
- Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within established deadlines.
- Manage multiple projects and bid opportunities simultaneously.
- Assist with estimating strategy and provide technical guidance to support the broader team.
