About The Position

An established commercial doors, frames, and hardware organization in the Dallas market is seeking an Estimator to support large-scale commercial construction projects. The role focuses on preparing accurate material takeoffs, reviewing construction documents, and developing competitive estimates for Division 8 scopes of work. The organization handles major commercial projects with average contract values exceeding $1 million. Candidates with experience estimating smaller projects may also be considered if they have strong product knowledge and understand the estimating process. The Estimator will prepare and manage estimates using Comsense estimating software and coordinate with internal sales and operations teams during estimating and bidding. Training on Comsense is available for candidates without prior experience. The position is on-site in Dallas, Texas. Compensation is dependent on experience, with additional bonus potential and possible relocation assistance. The opportunity includes estimating substantial commercial projects and developing within an established organization.

Requirements

At least 1–2 years of estimating experience within commercial doors, frames, and hardware.
Strong working knowledge of Division 8 products and applications.
Ability to interpret architectural drawings, door schedules, and project specifications.
Experience performing material takeoffs and developing project estimates.
Understanding of commercial construction bidding processes.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple estimates.
Ability to work on-site in Dallas, Texas.

Nice To Haves

Experience using Comsense estimating software; training is available for candidates without prior exposure.
Experience with large commercial construction projects.
Background estimating data centers, hospitals, or similarly complex facilities.
Experience with a commercial door and hardware distributor, supplier, or subcontractor.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage estimates from initial takeoff through bid submission.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed material takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial doors, frames, and architectural hardware.
Review architectural drawings, specifications, door schedules, and hardware sets.
Develop accurate and competitive bids for Division 8 construction packages.
Evaluate project scope, material requirements, and associated costs.
Coordinate with internal sales and operations teams throughout the estimating and bidding process.
Identify discrepancies, scope gaps, and potential value-engineering opportunities.
Support estimating efforts for projects ranging from smaller commercial packages to large-scale developments.
Use Comsense estimating software to prepare and manage estimates.
