About The Position

AspenTech is seeking energetic, self-driven engineering technicians to work alongside a client in secure and unsecure facilities at its largest Department of Defense customer near Columbia, Maryland. The position is responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and maintaining the client’s Electrical SCADA System, which monitors and controls electrical power across the customer’s local campus and enterprise sites around the globe. Success requires initiative, customer focus, attention to detail, teamwork, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities are similar to work in HVAC, PLC, building automation, and industrial control systems.

Requirements

At least 5 years of field or service experience in a related discipline.
An associate degree in Building Automation Technology, Mechanical or Electrical Technology, or another technical focus from an accredited college, or 5 years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC or SCADA control software systems.
Ability to evaluate and follow electrical lines and/or blueprints.
Ability to work on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
Some knowledge of electric utilities, power systems, communications, control systems, and/or networking.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong commitment to providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities

Assist project engineers in completing SCADA system database and display design packages.
Create and integrate SCADA databases and displays with field equipment on customer systems.
Support SCADA Point-to-Point and Commissioning events to field-test system changes.
Maintain detailed records of successful testing, identified issues, and troubleshooting steps completed.
Troubleshoot and resolve system and communication issues in a real-time environment.
