About The Position

Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Employee Benefits Analyst – Public Sector to join their growing team. This role serves as a lead analytical resource for public sector clients, responsible for delivering advanced financial analysis, strategic reporting, and data-driven insights across complex employee benefit programs. The role provides deeper evaluation of renewal and proposal data, identifies trends and risks, and develops actionable recommendations that support long-term benefits strategy and cost management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in employee benefits, analytics, brokerage, or consulting.
  • Advanced experience with renewal and financial analysis, claims and utilization reporting, and RFP development and carrier evaluations.
  • Strong knowledge of fully insured and self-funded benefit plans, and employee benefits regulations (ACA, COBRA, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex renewal analyses across all lines of coverage, including non-marketed and negotiated plans.
  • Evaluate claims experience, utilization trends, and financial performance to identify risks, opportunities, and cost drivers.
  • Develop strategic, data-driven recommendations that support long-term benefits planning and funding strategies.
  • Lead the development and execution of Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for assigned clients.
  • Analyze and compare carrier proposals, identifying competitive positioning and financial impact.
  • Support and actively participate in carrier negotiations in partnership with the Benefits Consultant.
  • Develop and deliver advanced financial and management reporting (scheduled and ad hoc).
  • Present renewal analyses, performance results, and recommendations to client staff, committees, and leadership groups.
  • Translate complex financial and healthcare data into clear, concise, and client-focused insights.
  • Partner with the Benefits Consultants in the strategic planning and design of client benefit programs.
  • Act as a key analytical resource for assigned clients, supporting ongoing decision-making and plan optimization.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and recommendation of new services, vendors, or program enhancements.
