About The Position

Provides short-term counseling, assessment and referrals for clients of the EAP. Conducts supervisor information and training sessions. Consults with supervisors, managers and HR staff. Serves as a lead worker to other EAP Counselors. May serve as back-up for EAP Manager and EAP Director in supervising the office; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s in social work or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills
  • Excellent clinical skills in mental health and addictions treatment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ten or more years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) highly recommended

Responsibilities

  • Consults and collaborates with medical providers and other team members regarding the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral health and other psychosocial issues.
  • Assists in effectively managing, treating and counseling patients with chronic mental health conditions.
  • Conducts psychosocial assessments, screenings and triage of patients, as needed.
  • Develops individualized care plans for patients based on needs assessments which identify problems, goals, skills training, and other service needs.
  • Provides support to patients to assist them in dealing with social, emotional, financial and or/environmental factors which affect their well-being.
  • Provides short term individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, as well as education and skills training.
