Senior E-filing Specialist (Southfield, MI)
About The Position
Proof is a high-growth legal technology startup founded in 2017. Its legal services platform serves law firms and property management companies, providing access to legal and document delivery services. The Senior E-Filing Specialist is a subject matter expert and problem solver who handles complex filing work, resolves escalations and exceptions, and helps ensure accurate, timely, high-quality service for clients. The role emphasizes investigating why issues occur and identifying ways to prevent them from happening again. The position is full-time, salaried, and in person in Southfield, Michigan. Compensation is $60,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience and location, with eligibility to participate in the company bonus plan.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in legal e-filing, court filing, legal operations, litigation support, collections, or a similar legal services environment is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Comfort handling escalations and situations where the answer is not immediately clear.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong judgment and willingness to raise concerns when something appears incorrect or creates risk.
Responsibilities
- Complete new case initiations and subsequent filings throughout the filing lifecycle, including affidavits, motions, dismissals, and other case-related documents, following client instructions and Proof procedures.
- Act as an escalation point for complex, unusual, or high-risk filing situations; research and resolve rejected filings and other filing-related issues.
- Use research and judgment to address situations where standard procedures do not provide a clear answer, escalating appropriately.
- Assist with high-priority or sensitive client matters requiring elevated attention.
- Review exceptions, errors, and filing trends to identify operational risks.
- Meet established turnaround times while maintaining accuracy and quality.
