About The Position

Aeva is seeking a DSP Systems Engineer to develop advanced algorithms for its sensing and perception technology. The role focuses on techniques from Detection and Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications and Information Theory. The engineer will define performance requirements and design, test, verify, and validate signal-processing algorithms. The work includes developing and simulating end-to-end systems to meet performance specifications and analyzing real-world data to verify algorithms.

Requirements

Expertise in C or C++ and analysis tools such as Python or MATLAB.
MSEE or higher, with a focus in DSP or digital communications theory.
Solid foundations in mathematics, digital signal processing, and communication systems.
Experience designing, selecting, and optimizing DSP algorithms for RADAR or other relevant sensors.
Expertise in MATLAB and experience with other languages such as C, C++, or Python.
Eagerness to learn and implement new algorithms in groundbreaking technology.

Nice To Haves

Background in Radar or LiDAR signal processing (FMCW).
Expertise in Radar link budgets and analysis of Minimum Detectable Signal, Signal-to-Noise, and Signal-to-Clutter.
Experience developing DSP algorithms on FPGAs.

Responsibilities

Design, verify, and test signal-processing algorithms using Detection and Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications and Information Theory.
Design and simulate end-to-end systems from the ground up to meet required performance specifications.
Analyze data and verify algorithms against real-world data.
