Senior DSP Engineer
About The Position
Aeva is building sensing and perception technology for autonomous vehicles and other applications. Its 4D LiDAR measures instantaneous velocity for each pixel, offers long-range performance at high resolutions, and is designed to avoid LiDAR or sunlight interference. The technology is built using silicon photonics for mass-market applications. Aeva is seeking a DSP Systems Engineer to develop advanced algorithms using Detection and Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications and Information Theory. The role is responsible for defining performance requirements and designing, testing, verifying, and validating signal-processing algorithms. It also involves simulating end-to-end systems and analyzing real-world data to verify algorithms.
Requirements
- Expertise in C or C++ and analysis tools such as Python or MATLAB.
- MSEE or higher, with a focus in DSP or digital communications theory.
- Solid fundamentals in mathematics, digital signal processing, and communication systems.
- Experience designing, selecting, and optimizing DSP algorithms for RADAR or other relevant sensors.
- Expertise in MATLAB and experience with other languages such as C, C++, or Python.
- Eagerness to learn and implement algorithms in new technology.
Nice To Haves
- Background in Radar or LiDAR signal processing, including FMCW.
- Expertise in Radar link budgets and analysis of Minimum Detectable Signal, Signal-to-Noise, and Signal-to-Clutter.
- Experience developing DSP algorithms on FPGAs.
Responsibilities
- Design, verify, and test signal-processing algorithms using techniques in Detection and Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications and Information Theory.
- Design and simulate end-to-end systems from the ground up to meet required performance specifications.
- Analyze data and verify algorithms against real-world data.
