Senior DSP Engineer

Vector Atomic•Pleasanton, CA

About The Position

Vector Atomic, an IonQ company, is seeking a Senior DSP Engineer to design algorithms for instrument control based on system goals, high-level requirements, and laboratory measurements. The role develops custom signal-processing algorithms for resource-constrained systems and creates test plans and experiments to generate empirical data that complements simulation results. The work begins in research and development, with the eventual goal of transitioning the technology to commercial devices. The engineer will be a strong individual contributor who takes ownership of tasks while supporting team goals. The engineer will collaborate with physicists, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, optical engineers, and software engineers to create quantum instruments and precision sensors. The role involves signal-processing algorithm design and validation using simulation tools, implementation across CPUs and RTL-based FPGA systems, and support for translation into RTL or firmware. The engineer will also characterize system behavior, measure performance, identify system models, and help debug systems in a dynamic laboratory environment.
