Senior Staff DSP Engineer

SEAKR Engineering•Centennial, CO
•$180,000 - $230,000

About The Position

The Senior Staff DSP Engineer is a senior technical leader who defines and advances Digital Signal Processing (DSP) solutions across complex programs and technical initiatives. The role sets strategic technical direction, resolves highly complex engineering challenges, and helps establish DSP methodologies, architectures, and best practices across the organization. It requires expert knowledge of DSP concepts—including RF communications, synchronization, and high-speed ADC and DAC systems—and the ability to translate advanced DSP concepts into practical hardware solutions. The engineer leads DSP work throughout the engineering lifecycle, from system architecture and requirements development through algorithm exploration, trade studies, design reviews, implementation, integration, laboratory verification, troubleshooting, and delivery. The role influences technical direction across multiple projects and programs, identifies significant risks and opportunities, and recommends solutions for engineering and organizational leadership. It also provides technical mentorship and oversight to DSP engineers and other senior technical contributors, while collaborating with engineering leadership, program teams, customers, and other technical disciplines. The position calls for substantial independence and judgment, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts, recommendations, risks, and tradeoffs to technical teams, customers, program leadership, and senior management. US citizenship is required. Applications will be accepted until 10/29/26.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 12 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience in DSP architecture, algorithm development, implementation, integration, and verification.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership on complex DSP systems and/or across multiple engineering programs.
  • Ability to independently resolve highly complex technical challenges and make decisions with significant program or organizational impact.
  • Experience developing and implementing DSP algorithms in FPGA and/or ASIC hardware.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical trade studies, design reviews, architecture decisions, and technical risk resolution.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and providing technical leadership and oversight to engineering teams.
  • Ability to influence technical decisions across engineering disciplines, programs, and organizational leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and senior leadership.
  • Expert-level knowledge of DSP concepts, including RF communications, synchronization, and high-speed ADC and DAC systems.
  • Experience translating advanced DSP concepts into practical hardware solutions.
  • US citizenship required.
