About The Position

The Senior Drawing & Document Controller is an integral part of the ATCO EnPower Project Services team, tasked with managing the quality and integrity of our asset drawing libraries, developing, coordinating, and maintaining concurrent engineering best practices, and executing the document control processes in a multi-project environment. This is an 8-month temporary role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in drawing and document control roles within the energy industry with previous experience facilitating drawing and document control efforts within a multi-project environment or multi-million-dollar projects.
  • College courses or certificate in a technical or business-related field.
  • Advanced skills, knowledge and understanding of Microsoft 365 products, including SharePoint Administration.

Nice To Haves

  • CAD Technician / AutoCAD Fundamentals courses are a definite asset and a willingness to obtain CAD certification within two years is required.
  • Experience with configuring functionality using Microsoft Power suite is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Oracle ECM reporting and Procore software is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu or other cloud-based review software is considered an asset.
  • Creative problem solver, with a commitment to continuous improvement that can define processes and strengthen existing processes and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage facility drawing libraries, including access, version control and quality assurance activities.
  • Design, improve, and execute concurrent engineering and MOC processes.
  • Quality assurance, including audit activities, of existing asset drawing libraries.
  • Maintain security of controlled native files.
  • Coordinate with external third parties on the delivery and quality of native files as IFC and As-Built deliverables.
  • Work with engineering and asset management teams to ensure appropriate asset tagging.
  • Ensure proper management and use of xref files, binding and inserting to maintain the quality and integrity of asset drawing libraries.
  • Review red line drawing packages to ensure conformity with requirements, specifically revision control, version control, and numbering structures.
  • Support Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning contractors in fulfilling their information management obligations, specifically through training on ATCO systems (Procore), development of coordination procedures that align with contractual requirements, and working with third-party document control groups to ensure requirements and timelines are met.
  • Ensure information management principles are applied throughout the project lifecycle, managing the flow of information during the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that project and facility documentation indices are updated with documentation information.
  • Coordinate with other projects to ensure that concurrent engineering requests are managed appropriately.
  • Ensure that documentation is distributed to the correct parties accurately and in a timely fashion per the project requirements.
  • Ensure that documentation reviews are assigned a responsible engineer and are forwarded to required and optional reviewers.
  • Ensure that documentation reviews are completed, and documentation is returned to the submitter by the review due date.
  • Work directly with Construction and Quality teams to compile and distribute construction work packages, as required.
  • Perform regular quality checks on project documentation, including setting appropriate key performance indicators.
  • Work with Quality team to ensure that vendor turnover document is reviewed prior to acceptance.
  • Turnover all final facility documentation to Operations and Asset Management groups.
  • Project close out, including transfer and turnover, lessons learned, and archiving activities.
