Senior Domain Consultant - Professional Services
About The Position
The Senior Domain Consultant will perform IT data warehouse business analysis, gathering and documenting stakeholder requirements and translating business needs into functional requirements for development teams. The role involves analyzing source systems, data flows, and transformation rules; creating business and technical documentation; and collaborating with Data Architects, Engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to support data warehouse and analytics work. The position requires hands-on technical experience with Excel, SQL, Databricks SQL, ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, star schemas, data marts, and data lakehouse concepts.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience working as an IT Data Warehouse Business Analyst.
- Hands-on experience with Excel, SQL, and Databricks SQL.
- Technical business analytics experience.
- Experience with ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, star schemas, data marts, and data lakehouse concepts.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Logical and efficient approach, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Gather and document business requirements through stakeholder workshops and discussions.
- Create business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and data mapping documents.
- Analyze source systems and data flows, and define transformation rules.
- Collaborate with Data Architects and Engineers on data models, ETL requirements, and data quality.
- Create and maintain Data Mapping Specifications (DMS/LMS).
- Identify data transformation and business rules.
- Manage requirement changes, scope, and stakeholder priorities.
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements for development teams.
- Create process models and support requirement reviews to ensure accuracy and alignment.
- Communicate requirement updates and solutions to project teams and stakeholders.
