About The Position

The Senior Director, Merchandise Compliance, will oversee the Merchandise Compliance program for Sam’s Club with responsibility for mitigating risk and enabling regulatory compliance across a broad merchandise portfolio. This leader is responsible for proactively identifying risk through a risk‑based approach, designing and executing effective mitigation strategies, and driving continuous monitoring and improvement of compliance programs. Reporting to the Group Director, Sam’s Club Ethics and Compliance, this role partners closely with Compliance subject-matter experts, Merchandising, Operations, Asset Protection, Membership, Legal, Product, and Technology teams to embed compliance into the business and enable scalable, sustainable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
  • 4 years’ supervisory experience.
  • 5 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of the Merchandise Compliance program by proactively identifying risk and implementing risk‑based mitigation and remediation strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic partner to the business through ongoing engagements, and day‑to‑day operations.
  • Define, assess, and report on key performance indicators to evaluate program effectiveness, drive transparency, and inform leadership decision‑making.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to design and scale sustainable tools and solutions.
  • Represent and articulate corporate positions on compliance‑related issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive strong cross‑functional collaboration across stakeholders to deliver business‑aligned outcomes.
