About The Position

The Senior Manager of the U.S. Import Compliance – Classification & Admissibility team is critical to the U.S. Import Trade Compliance Program. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance through development and enhancement of classification and admissibility programs, management of updates related to trade remedies, monitoring and advisement to key stakeholders of trade HTS and regulatory changes that impact the business, stay current with regulatory changes affecting HTS classification and relevant trade compliance laws to ensure adherence to government agency requirements for U.S. imports, and specialized tariff audits. This role will report to the Director, Specialty Compliance and Ethics – Trade Compliance Classification & Admissibility. The Trade Compliance Classification and Admissibility Team ensures precise and consistent product classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) to support compliant import operations. Collaborating with sourcing, suppliers, brokers, and internal partners, the team mitigates regulatory risks, optimizes duties, and maintains business continuity through strong classification and admissibility governance. Their purpose is to deliver accurate, well-documented customs classifications that uphold audit-ready standards and enable efficient global trade. This team plays a critical role in protecting the company from regulatory challenges while fostering effective partnerships across the organization to support seamless and compliant trade processes.

Requirements

  • Strong awareness of U.S. import compliance and ethics, with 3+ years of experience and deep expertise in classification, CBP and PGA requirements, trade remedies, and preferential trade programs.
  • Experience leading audits, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring programs, using data to assess risk and impact.
  • Project management and team leadership experience.
  • You thrive in fast‑paced, complex environments, and communicate complex issues clearly.
  • You are highly organized, analytical, and accountable—and are a licensed U.S. Customs Broker.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.
  • 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance program effectiveness and efficiencies: Develop and implement changes to program requirements, systems, and processes to be more efficient and effective; identify program gaps and solutions.
  • Improve data quality: Collaborate with global stakeholders on data improvement opportunities for better risk identification.
  • Identify and mitigate risk: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risk associated with trade remedies and partnering government agencies ensuring adherence with Customs rules and regulations while demonstrating reasonable care.
  • Build strategic relationships: Partner with Internal Import teams, Product Development, Technical Design, Merchants, and Sourcing teams to determine appropriate tariff rates and explore potential tariff engineering opportunities, where applicable.
