About The Position

As the Director, Corporate Compliance and Ethics at Lineage, you will develop, implement, and oversee Lineage’s corporate compliance and ethics initiatives and programs, including global data privacy. This position will be responsible for key compliance initiatives, including policies and procedures, internal investigations, training, compliance counseling, diligence screening and compliance related monitoring and risk assessments. This position is critical to supporting Lineage’s strategic and operational objectives by championing a centralized, coordinated enterprise-wide approach to corporate compliance and ethics across multiple business units with a particular focus in North America. This role requires a deep understanding of corporate compliance and ethics, global data privacy regulations, risk mitigation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or certification with CCEP; Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in corporate compliance and ethics role, which includes significant involvement in the design, implementation and administration of corporate compliance and ethics programs gained through a major law or accounting firm, government enforcement position or multinational corporation.
  • Strong knowledge in anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, ESG (including modern slavery), data privacy (including GDPR), cyber and data security, customs and trade compliance, whistleblowing, sanctions and antitrust.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • A self-starter with ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, autonomy, and initiative without daily interaction with management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience accurately interpreting and explaining state and federal laws, rules, contracts, regulations, and policies using plain talk.
  • Experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences on a variety of laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficient in technology solutions and systems.
  • Collaborative and consultative team player who possesses an ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, growing company and adjust quickly to change.
  • Must be able to manage multiple competing requests and ensure that projects are completed on a timely basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to and support all corporate compliance and ethics initiatives working closely with the VP, Global Corporate Compliance & Ethics, global corporate compliance and ethics team, regional legal counsel as well as regional facility and functional leadership.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and guidance on relevant compliance and related regulatory matters, including, without limitation, anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, ESG (including modern slavery), data privacy (including GDPR), cyber and data security, customs and trade compliance, whistleblowing, sanctions and antitrust.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in compliance initiatives and collaborate with global corporate compliance and ethics team on global initiatives.
  • Partner with VP, Global Corporate Compliance & Ethics to select and monitor compliance vendors.
  • Prepare and present periodic reporting to key stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Design and implement initiatives to assess and strengthen Lineage’s ethical culture.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Foster a culture of compliance through ongoing communication and awareness initiatives.
  • Lead best in class annual risk assessments to identify the most significant risks affecting Lineage.
  • Collaborate with business units to implement strategies for mitigating and managing identified risks.
  • Establish and oversee monitoring and auditing processes to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Conduct internal audits to identify areas of improvement and address potential compliance issues.
  • Provide oversight to Lineage’s ethics reporting resources, including the Lineage Ethics Hotline, including tracking and assessment of key performance indicators to maintain an effective reporting mechanism, escalation and remediation processes for compliance concerns and whistleblower reports.
  • Conduct and manage internal investigations, including allegations of violations of Lineage’s code of conduct, and respond to whistleblower events in coordination with internal stakeholders, ensuring a fair and thorough process.
  • Create and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization.
  • Update and revise compliance policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Collaborate with regional legal counsel to address compliance-related legal matters.
  • Provide support to compliance-related due diligence in connection with Lineage’s M&A activity.
