About The Position

Quizlet is hiring a Senior Director of Product to own the vision, strategy, and business outcomes for growing its learner base and turning engagement into durable revenue. The role shapes company-level product strategy and investment decisions across acquisition, engagement, advertising, subscriptions, and payments, balancing near-term revenue with long-term learner and business value. The leader will develop a team of product managers and product leaders, shape the organization, and partner with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Marketing, Finance, and Ads Revenue Operations. The role sets a unified growth and monetization strategy; leads the free learner experience, activation, engagement, growth loops, and international expansion; improves advertising while protecting study quality and retention; and guides the subscription lifecycle from pricing and packaging through renewal and win-back. The position also leads a dedicated payments roadmap, including checkout, payment methods, authorization, recurring billing, and failed-payment recovery. The Senior Director makes portfolio tradeoffs explicit using shared measures of durable growth and domain-specific metrics, while accounting for cannibalization, cohort effects, learner trust, and engagement. They establish organizational ownership and standards, hire and develop product leaders, plan future capabilities, and drive alignment and execution with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid position based in Quizlet’s San Francisco office. Employees are asked to work in the office at least two days a week, Wednesday and Thursday.

  • Strong judgment about learner engagement and growth quality, including the ability to evaluate cohorts, markets, and acquisition or engagement loops for lasting customer value and sustainable revenue.
  • Technical and commercial fluency in payments sufficient to lead a specialist product manager, evaluate payment-funnel opportunities, and guide platform and partner decisions with Engineering and Finance.

  • Set standards for strategic planning, experimentation, and performance, while developing leadership depth and succession plans.
  • Partner with senior leaders on resources and company priorities, and resolve difficult priority conflicts.
