About The Position

PortPro is an AI-led operating system built for drayage, powering trucking companies that move containers in and out of America’s ports. We are a hypergrowth SaaS company rapidly scaling and are looking for a marketing leader to help us turn category awareness into category leadership. This is a player-coach role where you will be responsible for marketing strategy and execution, including writing messaging, shipping campaigns, briefing agencies, and reporting on pipeline. You will partner closely with the SVP of Sales, CEO, and Product team to drive demand, sharpen positioning, and tell PortPro’s story. The role requires someone who can do the work, not just manage it, and will be empowered to build out the marketing function as the company scales.

Requirements

  • Proven progression, not just a senior title; demonstrated growth from individual contributor to manager to leader.
  • Scrappy and hands-on experience in startups or lean teams (seed through Series B/C) where you performed tasks like writing emails, building landing pages, briefing designers, and pulling reports.
  • Consistent marketing experience, ideally weighted toward product marketing and demand generation, with fluency in positioning frameworks and pipeline math.
  • Product marketing experience, including leading launches, building ICP and persona work used by sales, and crafting messaging that improved win rates.
  • Demand generation experience, owning a full funnel number (MQLs, SQLs, pipeline, or sourced revenue) and achieving targets.
  • Understanding of which channels work for B2B SaaS and which are vanity.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex AI-enabled workflows.
  • Data-driven and commercially minded approach, measuring what matters and tying marketing to revenue.
  • AI-fluent, using modern AI tools to enhance work and excitement for marketing an AI-driven product.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience marketing into trucking, logistics, drayage, freight forwarding, or 3PL audiences.
  • Background at an AI-first or AI-pro B2B SaaS company.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, and the next-gen B2B marketing stack.
  • Hands-on experience with ABM motions for SMB and mid-market accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute PortPro’s end-to-end marketing strategy across product marketing, demand generation, content, brand, and field/event marketing.
  • Lead product marketing: positioning, messaging, launches, sales enablement, competitive intelligence, and customer storytelling for a category-defining product.
  • Drive demand generation programs (paid, SEO, lifecycle, ABM, partner, and event-led) that produce qualified pipeline and measurable revenue impact.
  • Partner with Sales to build a tight, accountable feedback loop on ICP, message-market fit, conversion rates, and pipeline velocity.
  • Translate a technical, AI-enhanced platform into clear, compelling stories for drayage operators including owners, dispatchers, and operations leaders who don’t have time for jargon.
  • Build, run, and report on a marketing budget with discipline, understanding CAC, payback, pipeline coverage, and source-of-pipeline numbers.
  • Hire and coach a small, high-leverage team over time, starting by being hands-on yourself.
  • Represent PortPro at industry events, on webinars, and in customer conversations, acting as a voice of the brand.

Benefits

  • Annual salary of $175,000 - $225,000 based on candidate experience.
