About The Position

Plunge is seeking a Senior Director of Marketing to lead its marketing department and scale effective, efficient growth across consumer and commercial businesses. The role combines department leadership with hands-on execution: setting strategy, developing a team, managing budgets, and working directly in advertising platforms. The successful candidate will use clear hypotheses, meaningful KPIs, disciplined testing, and sound judgment to guide growth. The Senior Director reports directly to the CEO and will build the internal marketing team, define its structure, make key hires, and develop employees. The current team includes a videographer and a Director of E-commerce and Automation, and Plunge is hiring a Senior Manager of Content. The role also manages agency, consulting, and freelance partners across paid media, affiliate marketing, email and SMS, design, and growth consulting. The position owns marketing leadership and execution, growth marketing and profitable scale, measurement and experimentation, customer understanding, brand and relationships, and the use of AI in marketing. It coordinates acquisition, content, lifecycle marketing, ecommerce conversion, brand, partnerships, and B2B sales support; works cross-functionally on launches and growth plans; and establishes a clear operating rhythm. It is expected to use AI tools connected to company systems while validating findings in source platforms and applying editorial and creative judgment. Success means delivering sustainable, efficient growth; ensuring internal staff and external partners own priorities and KPIs; grounding positioning, creative, and the purchase experience in customer insight; using testing to make investment decisions; maintaining a compelling premium brand while using promotions effectively; and using AI to improve work while preserving human relationships and original content.

  • Deep, current growth marketing experience and ability to work directly in advertising platforms alongside agency partners.

  • Ability to review historical data, identify plausible explanations, and propose specific tests with a clear rationale.
  • Strong creative judgment and ability to connect customer insight with effective messaging and execution.
  • Experience managing internal talent, agencies, and specialist consultants.
  • Confidence building a productive relationship with an involved CEO and other senior leaders.
  • Practical experience using AI to analyze, create, and improve work, and willingness to keep learning as tools change.
  • Appreciation for partnerships, human relationships, and the craft of compelling original content.
  • Builder’s mindset, ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to carry ideas through launch and measurable results.
