The Senior Director, Global Obesity Commercial Development is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping Pfizer’s portfolio-level commercial development strategy for its global obesity franchise. The role leads cross-functional strategic integration, drives end-to-end commercial strategy across multiple pipeline assets and indications, and partners with senior leadership on high-impact decisions. It requires navigating ambiguity, shifting between asset-level detail and portfolio-wide strategy, and orchestrating integrations across clinical, commercial, and operational stakeholders. As the portfolio advances toward late-stage development and early commercialization, the position supports strategic coherence, enterprise-aligned decisions, and executional readiness. The successful candidate brings scientific and business acumen, sound strategic judgment, and the ability to influence senior leaders and governance bodies. The role leads Pfizer’s overarching commercial vision and long-range portfolio strategy; translates market and clinical signals into portfolio-level choices; partners with R&D, Commercial, Finance, and BD on investment and lifecycle strategies; oversees forecasting and scenario planning; and identifies and shapes business development opportunities. It also leads global launch readiness across assets and indications, integrates Commercial, R&D, GAV, PGS, BD, and regional stakeholders, shapes the capabilities and operating model needed to deliver the strategy, and aligns global, regional, and market stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree is required, and an advanced degree is strongly preferred. Candidates need 12 or more years of experience in commercial and R&D strategy, commercial development, portfolio strategy, or consulting. A strong scientific background, experience shaping end-to-end strategy across multiple assets, financial acumen, the ability to influence senior leadership, and exceptional communication and executive presence are required. Obesity or cardiometabolic experience is strongly preferred. The annual U.S. base salary range is $214,900 to $358,100. The position is eligible for Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan, with a bonus target of 22.5% of base salary, and for a share-based long-term incentive program. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with Pfizer matching contributions and an additional retirement savings contribution, paid vacation, holidays and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. Relocation assistance may be available depending on business needs and eligibility. Candidates must have permanent U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is unavailable. The last day to apply is November 12, 2026.
