About The Position

Humana is a leading health and well-being company focused on helping its patients, members, and customers achieve their best health by delivering personalized, simplified, whole-person healthcare experiences. The brokerage business is poised to advance the industry in how digital can be used to drive customer acquisition in the Medicare Advantage space. Within this business area, the company is aggressively driving new digital capabilities for its eCommerce website, creating new ways of working, and employing next-gen technology to revolutionize how Medicare Advantage is sold. This role is part of this expanding Digital organization and is critical in growth plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product, with direct experience as a Product Owner to include: Owning, prioritizing and managing a backlog, Writing and refining clear user stories, Working with Design, Content and Development to bring these experiences alive, Conducting UAT
  • 3+ years of experience managing eCommerce websites
  • Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • An analytical and metrics-driven work style, with direct experience working with eCommerce analytics tools (Adobe, Google, others) and KPIs
  • An entrepreneurial work style, you're a self-starter that’s comfortable in a startup environment
  • Deep user empathy and strong user experience sensibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Commercially focused (eCommerce)
  • Strong commercial focus, finding the intersection of customer desires, value to the business, and technology feasibility, with the primary goal of driving customer value and website conversion to grow the insurance eCommerce business.
  • Excellent skills for assessing value and understanding feasibility to determine how to sequence the product backlog. This includes prioritization at multiple altitudes including epic, feature and story roadmaps and backlogs.
  • Curiosity and a human-centered approach will drive the Product Owner to find relevant data and turn it into information that can help improve their products. They will be consumer-obsessed and driven to have proven solutions to consumer problems before adding work to the product roadmap.
  • Digital product owners have an advantage over product owners who oversee physical products. They can track how people use their products and learn what’s working and what isn’t. Digital product owners must become skilled at reading and interpreting these product analytics. Because they must leverage these insights into the ability to improve their products.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize the value of the product created by an Agile team and serve as the team's primary contact for information, work prioritization, and decision-making.
  • Drive the ecommerce website’s product vision, roadmap, and backlog, aligning with business objectives and customer need.
  • Partner with Engineering, Design, Content and partners in Product to define the vision for this specific team.
  • Create a product roadmap based on the aligned vision.
  • Manage the product backlog and prioritize it based on changing requirements.
  • Define and prioritize epics, features, and user stories (grooming and refining them) with clear acceptance criteria, prioritizing user needs and conversion-driving experiences.
  • Work with the UX/Design team to ensure user-centered designs and experiences are created.
  • Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of the process to report on status and ensure timely delivery.
  • Participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints.
  • Establish and review key performance metrics on a regular cadence to ensure the digital experience is performing at an optimal level and identifying if improvements are needed.
  • Partner with the analytics team.
  • Perform user acceptance testing and accept user stories before releasing to ensure the final product is meeting all requirements defined in the acceptance criteria.
  • Continually develop A/B tests to drive learning and ensure the best possible, data-informed, user experience.
