About the position
The job overview for this role is that Pave is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team and help engineer their infrastructure stack, enable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Self-Service, and improve the organization's development velocity. The DevOps team at Pave is responsible for managing the infrastructure and facilities development velocity for their Software Engineers. They are looking for someone with experience in DevOps engineering, knowledge of public cloud platforms, system and process scalability, programming languages, architectural patterns for Serverless applications, and experience with Infrastructure as Code methodologies. This role offers exposure to various engineering teams, the opportunity to set best practices, and the chance to have a lasting impact on the company's business.
Responsibilities
- Manage the infrastructure and facilities development velocity for Software Engineers
- Create scalable, secure, and robust infrastructure architecture using IAC and implementing self-service methodologies
- Engineer the infrastructure stack and enable IaC and Self-Service
- Improve the organization's development velocity
- Have knowledge of public cloud platforms, with deep knowledge in GCP preferred
- Have experience in system and process scalability
- Have experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, Typescript)
- Have exposure to architectural patterns for Serverless based applications
- Have experience with Infrastructure as Code methodologies and implementation, especially using Terraform
- Work with every engineering team on almost every initiative at Pave
- Set the tone and nature of best practices going forward
- Act as a force multiplier at an exciting, growing company
- Provide solutions to improve workflows and trailblaze new ways of solving problems
- Work in a true DevOps culture throughout engineering
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or site reliability engineer
- Knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, etc) with deep knowledge in GCP preferred
- Experience in system and process scalability
- Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, Typescript)
- Exposure to architectural patterns for Serverless based applications
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code methodologies and implementation especially using Terraform
