Anthropic•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Anthropic is hiring a Senior Data Center Capacity Delivery Manager to lead delivery of leased and partnered data center capacity. The role embeds with project teams and leads development partners to deliver facilities on the fastest possible schedule while maintaining safe construction sites and protecting finished quality. It also validates deal readiness, coordinates complex stakeholder relationships, tracks progress, and supports transitions from project inception through operational readiness. The position shapes how Anthropic secures and activates compute infrastructure for training and deploying frontier AI systems, working across real estate, construction, and AI infrastructure. The role involves substantial site presence—at one or more project sites at least 60% of the time—and leadership across extended, cross-functional site teams rather than relying on a large direct-report team. The manager is expected to bring data center delivery expertise to development partners, general contractors, and trades; guide decisions and execution; and take ownership of project outcomes amid ambiguity. The position also works with partner executives on commercial and contract structures and coordinates internal teams to enable rapid workload turn-ups. The minimum education is a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. The required field of study is a field relevant to the role, as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience. The annual salary range is $365,000–$435,000 USD. Anthropic states that it offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office space. The role is subject to a location-based hybrid policy under which staff are currently expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more.

  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end data center development process, including entitlements and permitting, planning and supply chain, execution, commissioning, and handover.
  • Ability to guide delivery execution and make decisions as an active participant, without needing to consult multiple external parties.
  • Ability to operate with ambiguity, take ownership of project outcomes, and independently develop approaches to delivery.
  • Comfort working on site with trades to resolve productivity issues and working with partner executives on contracts and commercial structures.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Relevant field of study, demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of AI/ML infrastructure requirements, including high-density power and advanced cooling systems.
  • Leadership experience as a General Superintendent or Project Manager within a general contractor or EPC on hyperscale data center projects, or in self-performing hyperscale data center development.
  • Ability to create high-performing cultures across diverse job sites and a strong emphasis on extreme ownership.
  • Familiarity with lease negotiations, construction contracts, or real estate development processes, including approaches to align incentives around accelerated facility delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one or more data center project sites, spending at least 60% of the time at project sites, and shape site-team culture, approach, and execution to improve outcomes.
  • Develop and enhance the capabilities of development partners, general contractors, and key trades through cross-functional data center delivery expertise and alignment.
  • Validate transaction viability from Letter of Intent through lease execution, confirming predevelopment, planning, technical, and business requirements before commitment.
  • Serve as Anthropic’s primary point of contact for landlords and developers after a deal, coordinating internal stakeholders, tracking construction progress, and facilitating information exchange.
  • Represent Anthropic in technical and operational decisions during development, ensuring infrastructure requirements are met while maintaining strong partnerships.
  • Coordinate handoffs to operational state, particularly with networking and deployment teams, to support rapid workload turn-ups and reduce time to production.
  • Prepare and present executive reporting on facility development progress versus plan to support capacity planning and strategic decisions.
  • Identify and mitigate delivery risks, proactively addressing blockers affecting timelines, costs, or technical requirements.
  • Develop and refine standardized facility-delivery processes and playbooks, driving continuous improvement as Anthropic scales its infrastructure footprint.
  • Take ownership of project outcomes, make delivery decisions, and build relationships across site teams, partners, and executives.
