About The Position

The Credit Processing Services Team provides compliance and credit fulfillment support to Commercial Banking and Capital Markets. As the Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you will be accountable for providing specialized service for credit-related products to an industry specific portfolio within Commercial Banking and Capital Markets. You will be responsible for all aspects of administration and monitoring of established credit facilities and maintain independent responsibility for the input, monitoring and escalation of risk elements on complex credit portfolios with minimal supervision. Requirements

  • Borrowing Product Knowledge - knowledgeable about commercial lending products such as; Banker's Acceptances (BA's), LIBOR/RFR loans, Letters of Credits (LOC), prime and/or US-base rate loans.
  • System knowledge - ACBS credit monitoring, knowledge of cash management services and systems (treasury cash management), COINS and ECIF experience is an asset.
  • Deal types - dealing with large syndicated credit facilities and bi-lateral operating facilities.
  • Experience with reading financial statement, financial statement covenant monitoring and ratio analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise and interact with Clients and Business Partners.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests providing professional high quality of customer service for the assigned portfolio.
  • Monitor ongoing risks associated with accounts through systems and reports for all credit facilities to process transactions, margins and perform detailed analysis of financial statements and related documents to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Review complex loan documentation to ensure compliance with authorized credit and due diligence to escalate errors/omissions for correction prior to closing, and conditions precedent are met prior to closing and funding for new/amended credit facilities.
  • Act independently of the business to ensure ongoing compliance of the terms and conditions of the authorized credit and exercise delegated authority to make decisions as required.
  • Ensure compliance to internal controls and procedures with full authority to escalate to Senior Business Partners and/or Risk Management as appropriate to maintain integrity of CIBC's position and timely resolution of issues.
  • Manage relationships with CIBC Business Partners on all credit-related activities to ensure accounts operate within terms and conditions of the authorized credit.
  • Act as a consultant to the business for deal structure and presentation to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the credit fulfillment function by providing specialized operational and administrative expertise.
