About The Position

Linedata is seeking an experienced independent consultant to support an investment management client’s continued rollout of Orchestrade, a third-party investment management platform that is already live. The assignment focuses on expanding adoption across portfolio managers and strengthening workflows and controls across the full trade lifecycle. The consultant will work within a small transformation team and partner with Operations, Trading, Technology, Risk, and Accounting. This is a hands-on role for someone with deep fixed income trade operations knowledge and experience delivering trading systems implementations. The engagement supports an external investment management client, not Linedata’s software development or product teams.

The position is a hybrid engagement, onsite two days per week in Stamford, Connecticut. It is an independent contractor engagement, with the consultant contracting directly with Linedata on a 1099 basis or through their own LLC. The anticipated duration is six or more months. Compensation is $150–$175 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant hedge fund or investment management experience across operations and operational systems implementation.
• Strong fixed income trade operations experience, including hands-on desk support, trade booking, and knowledge of the full trade lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with order management systems and portfolio management systems.
• Demonstrated success delivering systems implementations, including requirements gathering, configuration, data validation, testing, and user adoption.
• Ability to work effectively with portfolio managers, traders, operations professionals, and technology teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
• Able to contract directly with Linedata on a 1099 basis or through their own LLC; staffing agencies and third-party recruiters are not sought.

Nice To Haves

• Direct Orchestrade implementation experience gained at an investment management firm, consulting partner, or Orchestrade.
• A career combining hands-on trade operations with systems implementation and operational transformation.
• Prior Director or Head of Operations experience, with a continued interest in hands-on project delivery.
• Knowledge of listed instruments, OTC products, complex derivatives, and multi-asset operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own implementation workstreams, manage delivery milestones, and coordinate issue resolution across business and technology teams.
• Gather and translate operational and trading requirements into clear workflows, functional specifications, and implementation tasks.
• Support Orchestrade configuration, data mapping, and validation across trading and operational processes.
• Develop and execute test plans covering trade capture, booking, lifecycle events, and downstream processing.
• Investigate discrepancies, track defects, and validate fixes with business users and technology partners.
• Support portfolio manager onboarding, develop training materials, and guide users through new functionality and workflows.
• Identify opportunities to improve straight-through processing, operational efficiency, and middle- and back-office controls.
