About The Position

FrankCrum is hiring a full-time Senior Construction Defect Claims Manager to lead an assigned construction defect claims team. The role is accountable for effective claim handling, technical quality, reserve adequacy, litigation oversight, and timely, appropriate claim resolution. It develops claims professionals, directs complex claim strategy within delegated authority, and partners with the Construction Defect Director of Casualty Claims to improve operational outcomes and manage loss and expense exposure. The manager translates priorities established with the Director into team objectives, resource allocation, and operating practices. The role identifies emerging exposures, inventory trends, and operational risks; recommends and implements approved responses; and leads improvements to procedures, workflows, escalation practices, and technical training. It sets performance expectations, monitors team results, conducts performance discussions, and supports employee development. As a technical escalation point, the manager directs investigation, coverage analysis, liability and damages evaluation, allocation, and resolution strategy for complex, high-exposure claims. The role analyzes inventory, litigation metrics, loss and expense development, and reserves; reviews and authorizes reserves and settlements within established authority; and escalates matters requiring additional authority with supporting analysis. It reviews new losses, directs assignment and initial handling, balances workloads, supports staffing and hiring, and oversees audit responses and corrective actions. The role maintains management diaries and conducts risk-based file reviews, addresses handling deficiencies and service issues, and oversees litigation management, including defense strategy, counsel performance, budgets, and resolution opportunities. It also leads or contributes to claims initiatives and cross-functional projects. The position is based at FrankCrum, a professional employer organization headquartered in Clearwater, Florida; the posting does not specify the work arrangement.
