About The Position

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer for the Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs in the Division of Consumer Protection. Under the leadership of the Program Manager, this position reviews case files, previous history of non-compliance, and applicable laws and regulations to determine if violations of the Virginia’s charitable gaming laws or regulations have occurred and develops enforcement actions when appropriate. This position also ensures that all actions comply with laws, regulations, civil penalty/compliance action decision matrix, and other guidelines and policies; follows established priorities for case reviews; prepares all enforcement related correspondence and ensures appeal processes are held and conducted as required by the Virginia Administrative Process Act; maintains the enforcement database; tracks enforcement actions and provides analysis of trends to the Program Manager; and identifies compliance related issues and makes recommendations. The selected individual will support the program’s strategic management plan; evaluate and recommend actions concerning current charitable gaming related laws, regulations and proposed legislation; and serve as a resource on charitable gaming matters to the citizens of Virginia. This position requires routine interaction with Virginia’s industries, federal/state officials and law enforcement organizations, special interest groups, and the public to communicate program services and regulatory requirements. Once onboarded, this position may be eligible for telework opportunities; availability, hours, and duration of telework shall be approved as outlined in the Commonwealth’s telework policy.
