The Senior Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring, researching, analyzing, and interpreting relevant federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to Collections to ensure that all policies and practices comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. This role requires compliance experience in Collections across various financial products including mortgage, credit card, auto loan, personal loan, and student loan products, as well as experience with vendor management and third-party collection agencies. The officer will utilize knowledge of key laws and guidelines such as Unfair, Deceptive, Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Telephone Communications Practices Act, Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, applicable state collection laws, and GSE and VA/FHA guidelines to advise and inform business units.
