To monitor, research, analyze, and interpret relevant federal and state laws and regulations relating to compliance with Collections laws and regulations to ensure policies and practices comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. The role requires compliance experience in Collections for mortgage, credit card, auto loan, personal loan, and student loan products, vendor management, and third-party collection agencies. The officer will advise and inform business units using knowledge of various laws including Unfair, Deceptive, Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP); Fair Debt Collections Practices Act; Equal Credit Opportunity Act; Truth in Lending Act; Fair Credit Reporting Act; Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act; Telephone Communications Practices Act; Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, applicable state collection laws, and GSE and VA/FHA guidelines.
