About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Collections Specialist to manage customer collections, resolve billing discrepancies, and support accounts receivable aging and reporting. The role requires working independently on complex customer accounts while partnering with Sales, Finance, and Customer Success. The specialist will maintain customer records in Sage Intacct and Salesforce, prepare and analyze AR aging reports, support month-end close activities, and contribute to improved collections processes, documentation, and internal controls.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive collections or accounts receivable experience, including senior-level responsibilities.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.
• Strong experience researching billing discrepancies and resolving customer disputes.
• Demonstrated experience supporting and analyzing AR aging reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional customer-facing approach.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle collections process for assigned customer accounts and ensure timely, accurate cash application.
• Follow up proactively on past-due accounts by phone, email, and customer portals to encourage on-time payment.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, unapplied cash, short pays, and customer disputes in coordination with internal teams.
• Maintain accurate customer account records in Sage Intacct and Salesforce.
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain AR aging reports, including trend analysis and recommendations for risk mitigation.
• Support month-end close activities related to accounts receivable and collections.
• Develop and maintain detailed Excel schedules and reports using pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.
• Assist with improving collections processes, documentation, and internal controls.
• Provide management with regular status updates on high-risk accounts and collection efforts.
