About the position
The job overview for this position is to work as a member of the Cloud Infrastructure team at Unqork, reporting to the Engineering Manager. The main responsibilities include automating the multi-cloud infrastructure lifecycle, improving the high availability and scalability of the infrastructure, and developing software release and deployment processes. The role also involves providing technical leadership, promoting best practices, and collaborating with engineering teams across Unqork. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, networking, and working with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Engineering Manager of the Cloud Infrastructure team
- Commit to the team's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals
- Automate the multi-cloud infrastructure lifecycle and ensure service availability
- Drive improvements in high availability, resiliency, scalability, security, and cost optimization of infrastructure in AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Scale existing systems through automation and code changes
- Build tools for deploying and monitoring cloud infrastructure using Ansible and Terraform
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing
- Promote best practices for security, automation, scalability, and high availability
- Develop software release and deployment processes/infrastructure (CI/CD)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand service needs and deliver results
- Participate in product roadmap planning, sprint planning, and stand-ups
- Practice sustainable incident response and postmortems
- Participate in on-call responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure at a large scale
- Experience with networking and modern web services architectures
- Experience with IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- Linux/Unix administration background
- Design, build, and maintain services within AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Operate a production Kubernetes environment
- Deploy Kubernetes applications and perform Kubernetes operations
- Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Nomad in production
- Experience with CD tools like Spinnaker, ArgoCD, Codefresh, Octopus Deploy, Flux, etc.
- Security auditing and best practices experience
- Build and maintain infrastructure through software using Ansible and Terraform
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with Agile processes
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship or Green Card holder
- 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure at a large-scale
- Experience with networking and modern web services architectures
- Experience with best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- Background in Linux/Unix administration
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining services within AWS, Azure or GCP
- Experience operating a production Kubernetes environment
- Experience deploying Kubernetes applications / Kubernetes operations
- Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Nomad in production
- Experience with Spinnaker, ArgoCD, Codefresh, Octopus Deploy, Flux, etc (any CD tool)
- Experience in security auditing and best practices
- Experience building and maintaining infrastructure through software (Ansible and Terraform)
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with Agile processes
