About the position
The job overview for this position is that the Staff Engineer will be responsible for providing uniform access and data management capabilities for the Unqork platform. They will address data concerns ranging from security to performance and reliability, and deliver innovative, scalable, and impactful data-centric platform features for users. The role requires deep knowledge of systems design and architecture, expertise in data modeling and query optimization, and experience with Node.js/Typescript, React, REST and/or GraphQL, and NoSQL databases. The Staff Engineer will also be responsible for setting technical and cultural standards for engineers and steering projects of increasing scope and complexity.
Responsibilities
- Providing uniform access and data management capabilities for the Unqork platform
- Addressing Unqork's data concerns ranging from security to performance and reliability
- Delivering innovative, scalable, and impactful data-centric platform features for users
- Deep knowledge of systems design and architecture
- Expertise in data modeling, normalization, query, and indexing strategies
- Experience with using a data-driven approach to improve latency for query response times
- Experience with Node.js/Typescript
- Experience with React, REST and/or GraphQL, and NoSQL databases
- Experience steering projects of increasing scope and complexity
- Ability to set technical and cultural standards for engineers
- Strong knowledge of shipping impactful and complex software projects
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a professional engineering role
- 2+ years as technical lead for a team of engineers
- Deep knowledge of systems design and architecture
- Expert in data modeling, normalization, query and indexing strategies
- Experience with using a data-driven approach to improve latency for query response times (p99/95)
- Experience with Node.js/Typescript
- Experience with React, REST and/or GraphQL, and NoSQL databases
- Experience steering projects of increasing scope and complexity
- Ability to set technical and cultural standards for engineers
- Strong knowledge of shipping impactful and complex software projects
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technically-oriented field
