About The Position

Zurich North America is hiring a Senior Claims Professional, Surety/Construction to join our team. This is a fully remote position, allowing for a home-based office. In this role, you will manage a caseload of moderate to high complexity surety claims from start through settlement and resolution, within specific authority limits. You will ensure claims are handled efficiently and effectively, adhering to Zurich’s claims best practices and customer-led commitment. You will develop strong partnerships through extensive communication and interaction with principals, brokers, and other internal business unit contacts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in Claims or Insurance area OR Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area
Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products
Microsoft Office experience

Ability to develop and execute a negotiation strategy and plan for resolution
Ability to identify subtleties in customer/client and/or business partner interactions
Ability to present information necessary to propose a claim resolution to stakeholders

Responsibilities

Investigate surety claims from initial notice through final resolution.
Review contracts, invoices, payment applications, project records, and other claim-related documentation.
Analyze claim information to determine potential exposure and resolution strategies.
Identify recovery opportunities and support indemnity collection efforts.
Accumulate accounting data, invoicing, and adding payments using Excel.
