Senior Civil/Roadway Project Manager
About The Position
STV has an immediate need in our North Carolina offices for a Senior Civil/Roadway Project Manager in our Transportation division. The successful candidate will provide project management and professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and NCDOT. They will manage design, provide senior-level functional designs, and provide QC for roadway geometry and details, drainage, work zone traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure. The role involves interacting with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams, as well as coordinating design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff. The candidate will also coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget, assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports, and work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and STV’s growth. Additionally, the role includes facilitating and leading project meetings, creating, maintaining, and monitoring scopes, fees, schedules, staffing projections, risk registers, sub agreements, QC records, deliverable submittals, and invoices, and establishing working relationships and interface with client technical staff and client project managers. Mentoring supporting Civil design staff is also a key responsibility. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and possesses a comprehensive understanding of pre-construction project management of roadway and bridge projects.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design or bridge design.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- NC PE license is required.
- Experience in project management and design of intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.
- Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction.
Nice To Haves
- Design experience using MicroStation, Geopak, experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus.
- Experience with using Open Roads Designer is a plus.
- Experience with NCDOT and other NC municipalities.
Responsibilities
