About The Position

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Roadway Project Manager to work with engineers and multidisciplinary teams on large projects locally and across the country, primarily in North Carolina. Projects serve major area clients and vary in size and complexity. The role involves roadway and highway design, project coordination, client collaboration, and applying engineering standards and methods.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar field.
• North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Approximately 10–15 years of experience in highway design and local streets.
• Familiarity with North Carolina Department of Transportation engineering practices, standards, and documentation.
• Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, Bentley ORD, and Microsoft Office software.
• Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate work on various project design tasks.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients, and other agencies.

Responsibilities

• Design highway and roadway projects, working both as part of a design team and independently.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Prepare design plans, specifications, and quantities.
• Review and prepare calculations for highway design project elements.
• Review and prepare preconstruction cost estimates for projects.
• Work with the team to prepare proposals.
• Attend meetings with clients alongside other project team members.
• Coordinate work on various project design tasks.
