Senior Center Operator 1 (Local Government)
About The Position
The Part-time Senior Center Operator 1 role with the Lehigh County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is a chance to make a meaningful difference every day. This position supports multiple senior centers and helps keep daily operations running smoothly. Your work will help create welcoming spaces where older adults can stay active and engaged. This part-time position provides support across senior centers by assisting with daily operations, activities, and community outreach. The on-the-job training program is designed to develop the skills and abilities necessary for handling food and doing public contact work.
Requirements
- Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.

Responsibilities
- Assist with general center functions and maintain a welcoming environment
- Help plan and carry out programs that promote social engagement
- Build connections with local groups to enhance resources for participants
- Observe food handling processes and support meal service as needed
- Provide staffing support when other centers require additional help
- Ability to work within Microsoft software to create fliers, calendars, spreadsheets, etc. for advertising and organizational purposes
