About The Position

The Senior Business Systems Analyst understands, communicates, and documents business, functional, and non-functional requirements, detailed designs, and functional specifications for business application solutions. The role analyzes current and future-state processes, develops conceptual designs for process enhancements, and identifies, evaluates, and recommends effective approaches that meet business needs. It researches and implements business best practices and relevant technology trends.

The analyst facilitates process-improvement sessions, configures applications, designs and reviews test cases, and provides quality testing throughout the project lifecycle. The role also supports issue resolution, identifies project risks and mitigations, maintains application security roles, and reports status and issues to project managers. It collaborates with business subject matter experts to create training materials and conducts end-user training. The position may lead, coach, and direct others and mentors Business Analysts on complex projects and production support. The analyst continues developing cross-functional business, application, and technical skills while supporting Kimball International’s vision, guiding principles, and business-unit goals.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with business analysis methodologies and best practices.
• Fluency with project management methodologies.
• Desire and ability to learn and grow.
• A degree in a business- or IT-related field, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with a variety of relevant concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Proven history or ability to demonstrate safe and responsible behavior and a positive performance record, including attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality testing of applications throughout each phase of the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business subject matter experts to identify and document training materials for business solutions.
• Collaborate with the business to conduct end-user training.
• Resolve issues with business application solutions.
• Identify risks and mitigations throughout each phase of the project lifecycle.
• Maintain security roles within business application solutions.
• Report status and issues to project managers.
