DoW SkillBridge Fellowship - Senior Business Intel Analyst
About The Position
This DoW/DoD SkillBridge fellowship is for transitioning service members participating in the SkillBridge program. The Senior Business Intel Analyst supports business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting patterns, insights, and trends to leadership through dashboards and reports. The role analyzes business problems and issues using business intelligence tools that incorporate data from internal and external sources. It works under minimal supervision, applies a complete understanding of business needs and objectives, and makes recommendations that affect operational goals. The position requires an advanced skill set and proficiency with procedures and analysis techniques. The listed annual salary range of $79,000–$110,000 is a potential salary if hired by Navy Federal as a full-time employee. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Navy Federal because they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Complete knowledge and understanding of the business area or specialization.
- Advanced skill using business intelligence applications and/or cloud services.
- Advanced knowledge of reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM, and/or database software vendors.
- Advanced skill using statistical methods, mathematical techniques, forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Advanced skill in complex data manipulation across multiple tables.
- Effective data integration, cleaning, and validation skills.
- Skill communicating data analysis and visualizations to nontechnical and senior audiences.
- Skill with data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python and R.
- Intermediate skill in using work products to tell a story through an appropriate balance of visualizations, design aesthetics, and words.
- Research skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Must be a transitioning service member participating in the DoW/DoD SkillBridge program.
Responsibilities
- Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple sources, including structured and unstructured datasets, to generate insights into business performance.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns and prepare ongoing reports and data visualizations to support business decisions.
- Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions.
- Produce actionable reports showing key performance indicators, areas for operational improvement, and root-cause analyses of problems.
- Use analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and profits for new business initiatives.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders and provide business strategy recommendations to optimize performance.
- Provide reporting solutions and respond to ad hoc report requests within the business area.
- Create specifications for reports and analyses based on business needs and required or available data elements.
- Build working relationships with team members and subject matter experts.
- Lead small projects and initiatives.
