About The Position

The SMX SkillBridge Fellowship Program (SFP) is an approved partner of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program. It gives transitioning active-duty service members the opportunity to gain civilian work experience through an individual internship during the final six months of service, for up to 120 days. The program is open to all ranks and experience levels. Participants remain active-duty service members and continue to receive military compensation and benefits; they are not eligible for compensation from SMX. Training opportunities use a hybrid model, with flexible remote schedules available for local candidates near training sites. Fellows receive career mentorship and access to SMX’s Veteran Resource Group, collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers, and contribute to meaningful projects across the company. After acceptance, SFP program staff provide guidance and mentorship and work with each Fellow to identify an opportunity that fits within the organization. Potential fellowship areas include Intelligence, Information Technology, Information Security, Data Science, Cyber Security, Security Forces, Networking, Communications, Operations, and Data Analyst roles. Some internships require an active DoD Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance. Current available work locations are Herndon, Virginia; Hollywood, Maryland; Tampa, Florida; Huntsville, Alabama; Kapolei, Hawaii; and Broomfield, Colorado. SMX describes itself as a team of technical and domain experts supporting missions ranging from national security initiatives to compliant healthcare solutions. It applies technology, domain knowledge, and its delivery model to provide insights and solutions that support secure mission acceleration. SMX is an equal opportunity employer, including for people with disabilities and veterans. Selected applicants may be subject to a background investigation and/or education verification. SMX does not sponsor employment authorization or immigration-related support for this position.
