About The Position

Glencore Ltd, a US-based branch of Glencore AG, is seeking a Senior Business Change Manager for its Change Management Department (Energy) in New York, NY, USA. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful design, rollout, and implementation of activities across people, process, and system change. The Senior Business Change Manager will drive the implementation of projects, new business initiatives, and smaller, ad hoc requests aimed at continually improving the Global Energy Group, ensuring changes are delivered smoothly and with a positive impact.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience across either or both: Working within a commercial/risk environment within a physical commodity trader and/or within consultancy/business change within this industry.
  • Project Management or Business Change Management experience.
  • Experience of documenting processes and controls.
  • Ability to create high quality deliverables and outputs with sharp attention to detail.
  • Ability to pick up new concepts quickly.
  • Pro-active in approach (e.g., spots issues and challenges and actively works to address these).

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of physical oil, gas and power across MOTs and geographies.
  • Experience in systems implementation (functional lens).
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in complex, interdependent scenarios and situations.
  • Good communicator, clearly articulating key outputs and next steps.
  • Good influencer with the added confidence to challenge as appropriate.
  • Conversational Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between internal departments, clearly articulating priorities and ensuring views are well represented.
  • Support business leadership where required.
  • Build strong relationships across the business spanning multiple geographies to gather and represent views.
  • Facilitate strong engagement with colleagues across the business, encouraging participation in embracing and embedding change through coordinating communications, training, user testing, and changes to business processes and procedures.
  • Work on projects covering people, process, and system change, collaborating closely with the IT department.
  • Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities in processes and work with colleagues to implement necessary changes.
  • Scan the market and industry for potential solutions and enhanced ways of working to meet evolving business needs, seeking guidance from the Head of Business Change Management as appropriate.
  • Work independently with an entrepreneurial spirit, being largely self-sufficient, while seeking review and input when necessary or upon identifying and escalating major issues or blockers.
  • Perform any ad hoc duties as required from time to time.
