About The Position

Nexxt Spine LLC is seeking a senior analyst to take in-house ownership of its Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central system. The role serves as the on-the-ground Business Central expert, connecting users and business processes with the technology team that builds and maintains extensions and automations. It combines system support, process analysis, solution design, testing, and system administration rather than focusing solely on development or support. The analyst reports to the Chief Data Officer and works across customer service, logistics, purchasing, finance, quality, and warehouse operations. The role owns Business Central issues from initial triage through resolution and user follow-up; maps operational processes and identifies opportunities to reduce manual work; writes clear requirements and user stories; and collaborates on solution design, development, testing, and documentation. The analyst reviews extension changes, maintains system configuration and integrations, manages testing and releases, supports master-data integrity and regulated-environment traceability, and develops reporting and data exports using Business Central and Power BI. The position is on-site, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, though equivalent practical experience may substitute. The central qualification is demonstrated depth in Business Central and the ability to translate business operations into effective system support.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV experience as an in-house analyst, administrator, or functional consultant.
  • Experience in manufacturing, medical devices, or another regulated, inventory-heavy environment.
  • Practical understanding of lot tracking, BOMs, routings, and traceability.
  • Deep functional knowledge of Business Central sales, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, and finance, plus manufacturing or assembly.
  • Ability to read AL code, understand extension structure and the Business Central data model, and identify when code behavior is incorrect; full-time development experience is not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to map business processes and write requirements that others can build from.
  • Curiosity about new tools, including AI, and eagerness to use them to work faster.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work in technical design sessions and explain changes to customer service users.
  • Organized and dependable, with the ability to follow through on ticket commitments.
  • Comfort owning a system with a small team, taking on multiple responsibilities, and working at a fast pace.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing AL extensions in VS Code and working with Git, pull requests, and sandbox deployments.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development or automation tools.
  • Experience with Business Central APIs, OData, Power Automate, Power Apps, or integrations with EDI, shipping, CRM, or e-commerce systems.
  • Power BI report-building and data-modeling experience.
  • Background in medical device manufacturing or distribution, including FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, UDI, consignment inventory, or loaner kit management.
  • Experience stabilizing a difficult implementation or taking over a system from an outside partner.
  • Microsoft certification such as MB-800 (Business Central Functional Consultant) or MB-820 (Business Central Developer).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for Business Central issues across customer service, logistics, purchasing, finance, quality, and warehouse teams.
  • Triage, reproduce, and document issues as clear tickets with steps, expected results, and business impact.
  • Resolve configuration, setup, permission, and data issues; provide developers with specifications for code-level issues.
  • Own the ticket queue by prioritizing, tracking, following up, and closing the loop with the person who reported each issue.
  • Map processes across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory and lot/serial tracking, consignment and loaner sets, production, and quality.
  • Identify manual work, spreadsheets, re-keying, and workarounds, and propose improvements using Business Central or automation.
  • Write requirements and user stories that developers can implement without guesswork.
  • Work with the CDO and technology team to design solutions and help build, test, and document them.
  • Review changes before production, read AL code and extension changes to identify potential problems, and verify results in a sandbox.
  • Help establish tools, standards, and documentation for the technology team.
  • Maintain extensions, configuration, number series, posting setups, approval workflows, reports, and integrations.
  • Plan and conduct user acceptance testing with intended users and sign off on readiness.
  • Manage sandbox and production environments, release notes, and Microsoft's twice-yearly major updates.
  • Maintain clean master data, including items, BOMs, customers, vendors, and pricing, and support traceability and audit needs in a regulated medical device environment.
  • Identify efficiency improvements that reduce clicks, manual steps, and errors.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and data exports in Business Central and Power BI.
  • Provide the CDO with a concise weekly update on completed fixes, shipped changes, blockers, and recommendations.
