About The Position

The ERP Business Systems Analyst is a hands-on business and technology partner responsible for supporting, implementing, and continuously improving Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related Microsoft business applications, including Dynamics 365 CRM, Power Platform, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft 365. The role works with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, branch leadership, and IT to standardize business processes, strengthen financial controls, and establish Business Central as a common finance foundation for general ledger detail, financial dimensions, entity consolidation, and intercompany activity across CBX businesses. The position translates business needs into standard Business Central processes, uses existing CBX process maps for Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report, and favors out-of-the-box capabilities over customization. It safeguards data and financial accuracy through deployments and supports users in adopting the platform. Hands-on Business Central or Dynamics NAV experience, especially from an implementation or migration, is highly valued. This is a field-based, regional role involving travel to branch locations and potentially to Corporate or other regional locations. Travel is expected to vary with project and business needs. The role’s physical demands include regularly talking and hearing, and frequently standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with applicable law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, ERP Business Analyst, ERP Functional Consultant, or in a similar role supporting ERP or accounting applications.
  • Hands-on functional experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV (Navision).
  • Working knowledge of core accounting and operational processes, including general ledger, receivables, payables, purchasing, inventory, job costing, and financial close.
  • Experience supporting an ERP implementation, upgrade, migration, or multi-entity/multi-site rollout.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and producing process maps, functional specifications, test cases, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
  • Technical aptitude with business applications, including advanced Excel, data validation, report building, user security setup, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, and the ability to work across Finance, Operations, branches, and IT.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands described in the posting, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-company Business Central environments, including dimensions, intercompany, and financial consolidation.
  • Direct participation in a Navision/NAV-to-Business Central migration or a Business Central implementation across multiple entities or branches.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 Sales/CRM, Field Service, Dataverse, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure.
  • Familiarity with Business Central APIs, OData, configuration packages, AppSource extensions, SQL queries, and data mapping.
  • Experience in construction, building materials, distribution, manufacturing, field service, or multi-site operating environments.
  • Accounting or finance background, including month-end close, reconciliations, consolidation, job costing, or inventory accounting.
  • Microsoft certification such as MB-800 Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant, or CBAP, PMP, or CAPM certification.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and document current-state and future-state processes across Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Inventory, Manufacturing, and Project/Job Accounting.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops and translate business needs into process maps, user stories, fit-gap findings, and acceptance criteria.
  • Promote standard, out-of-the-box Business Central processes; document justified business variations, dependencies, workarounds, control gaps, and automation opportunities; and develop reusable process templates, SOPs, and playbooks.
  • Provide functional support for Business Central modules, including General Ledger, Dimensions, AP, AR, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, Sales, Inventory, Warehouse, Jobs, Manufacturing, and Intercompany.
  • Maintain setup tables, posting groups, number series, approval workflows, permission sets, and security groups in partnership with IT administrators.
  • Assess requirements against standard Business Central capabilities and AppSource solutions before recommending extensions or custom development; troubleshoot issues, perform first-level root-cause analysis, and manage partner and ISV support cases.
  • Support processes spanning Business Central, Dynamics 365 Sales/CRM, Dynamics 365 Field Service, Dataverse, Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Document requirements for Power Automate workflows, Power Apps, and Business Central approvals and notifications; partner with IT on environments, release waves, update testing, and extension/app lifecycle; and evaluate Copilot and AI opportunities.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting on chart of accounts, legal entities, dimensions, tax, payment terms, posting rules, consolidation, intercompany, close, reconciliations, and management reporting.
  • Help ensure transactions from source ERPs map accurately into Business Central and use working accounting knowledge to identify and resolve issues related to inventory valuation, job costing, and subledger-to-general-ledger posting.
  • Coordinate extraction, cleansing, mapping, loading, and validation of master and open-transaction data; use configuration packages, RapidStart, and Excel tools for conversions; and obtain sign-off from business and Finance data owners.
  • Define and reinforce data standards, required fields, naming conventions, and duplicate prevention across Business Central, CRM, and reporting platforms.
  • Document integration requirements and data handoffs between Business Central and CRM, operational ERPs, banking, payroll, and the enterprise data platform; partner with integration teams on APIs, OData, Power Automate, and Azure services, including error handling, monitoring, and reconciliation.
  • Partner with Data & Analytics on Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Business Central reporting, including financial statements, account schedules, and KPI definitions; support access reviews, segregation of duties, audit evidence, and exception reporting.
  • Plan and coordinate conversion validation, functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing; develop end-to-end process test scenarios; manage cutover plans and go-live checklists; validate releases and extensions; and track defects through resolution.
  • Create process documentation, job aids, and training materials; coordinate and deliver end-user training; develop super users; provide go-live and stabilization support; triage issues; communicate status and resolutions; and manage the enhancement backlog and lessons learned.
  • Travel to branch locations within the region and, as needed, to Corporate or other regional locations.
