About The Position

The AI Senior Business Analyst partners directly with a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to identify and automate business work using AI. The role embeds in one or more functional areas to learn how work is performed, map workflows and pain points, and turn findings into a prioritized stream of well-scoped solutions for the FDE to build. The analyst serves as the primary feeder of work to the FDE and helps ensure solutions address real business problems appropriately. Initially, the analyst will develop deep knowledge of an assigned area and establish a standard operating rhythm. As the team grows, the role may expand to additional areas, mentoring newer Business Analysts, and documenting a repeatable approach for scaling the BA–FDE model across the enterprise. The position requires taking ambiguous business needs through to production-grade solutions and collaborating with internal and external partners. Lineage uses cloud services, best-of-breed libraries and components, and external teams to augment its capabilities. The role contributes to systems that support employees, meet customer expectations, enable company growth, and advance Lineage’s vision of transforming the food supply chain. This is a remote role. Lineage is unable to sponsor work authorization now or in the future for this position.

Requirements

At least 8 years of experience in business analysis, management consulting, strategy operations, or a similar analytical role.
Experience working cross-functionally with technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
Proficiency with data analysis tools.
Ability to structure ambiguous problems, build frameworks, and drive decisions with incomplete information.
Ability to build business cases, financial models, and ROI analyses with strong quantitative rigor.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including producing briefs, presentations, and executive summaries for technical and executive audiences.
Ability to manage relationships and expectations across technical teams and senior business stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

Domain experience in Lineage’s core functional areas or industry vertical.
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts sufficient to assess feasibility and have productive conversations with engineers.
Prior experience in an AI Center of Excellence, digital transformation office, or innovation program.
Experience with product management or portfolio management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Aha!.
Background in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

Embed in assigned business functions and build working knowledge of their processes, systems, data, and pain points, identifying opportunities for AI to automate or augment work.
Document current-state processes, including workflows, handoffs, delays, and manual steps, and identify high-value opportunities to streamline and automate work with AI.
Partner with functional leaders and subject-matter experts to translate pain points into a prioritized, continuously refreshed backlog of well-scoped solution briefs for the paired Forward Deployed Engineer.
Develop business cases, including ROI estimates, effort sizing, and risk assessments, to support investment decisions.
Work alongside the Forward Deployed Engineer throughout delivery by providing domain context, documenting requirements, facilitating user acceptance testing, and driving adoption after solutions launch.
Create and maintain reporting for Center of Excellence leadership on delivered value and backlog health.
Coordinate multi-engagement timelines, resource allocation, and stakeholder communications with the Center of Excellence.
Conduct post-deployment impact analyses to validate projected ROI and identify further opportunities.
As the team scales, take on additional functional areas, mentor junior Business Analysts, and codify a repeatable BA–FDE playbook for entering new areas and establishing backlogs.
