About The Position

The AI Senior Business Analyst partners directly with a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to identify and automate business work using AI. The role embeds in one or more functional areas to learn their processes, systems, data, and pain points; map current workflows; and translate opportunities into well-scoped solutions for the FDE to build. The analyst is the primary source of prioritized work for the FDE and ensures solutions address real business problems appropriately.

Initially, the analyst will establish this operating rhythm within a first functional area. As the team grows, the role will expand to additional areas, mentor junior Business Analysts, and codify a repeatable approach for deploying BA–FDE teams across the enterprise. The position works across internal and external partners and takes initiatives from ambiguous business needs through production delivery and adoption, with a focus on responsible AI application and measurable business impact.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in business analysis, management consulting, strategy operations, or a similar analytical role.
• Experience working cross-functionally with technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, build frameworks, and drive decisions with incomplete information.
• Ability to build business cases, financial models, and ROI analyses with strong quantitative rigor.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including producing briefs, decks, and executive summaries for technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to manage relationships and expectations across technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Unable to sponsor work authorization now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• 8+ years of experience in business analysis, management consulting, strategy operations, or a similar analytical role.
• Domain experience in Lineage’s core functional areas or industry vertical.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts sufficient to assess feasibility and have productive conversations with engineers.
• Prior experience in an AI Center of Excellence, digital transformation office, or innovation program.
• Experience with product management or portfolio management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Aha!.
• Background in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Embed in assigned business functions and develop deep knowledge of their processes, systems, data, and pain points, identifying where AI can automate or augment work.
• Document current-state processes, including workflows, handoffs, delays, and manual steps, and identify high-value opportunities for streamlining and automation with AI.
• Partner with functional leaders and subject-matter experts to translate pain points into a prioritized, continuously refreshed backlog of well-scoped solution briefs for the paired Forward Deployed Engineer.
• Develop business cases, including ROI estimates, effort sizing, and risk assessments, to support investment decisions.
• Work alongside the Forward Deployed Engineer throughout delivery by providing domain context, documenting requirements, facilitating user acceptance testing, and driving adoption after solutions launch.
• Create and maintain reporting for CoE leadership on delivered value and backlog health.
• Coordinate multi-engagement timelines, resource allocation, and stakeholder communications with the CoE.
• Conduct post-deployment impact analyses to validate projected ROI and identify further opportunities.
• Take on additional functional areas as the team scales, mentor junior Business Analysts, and codify the repeatable BA–FDE playbook for entering a new area and establishing its backlog.
