About The Position
The Senior Billing Specialist supports Achieva’s day-to-day billing operations and revenue by performing daily, weekly, and monthly billing functions. The position reports to the Billing Manager. It is based at the Pittsburgh office, with hybrid flexibility: three days onsite and two remote days weekly after the first two months.
Requirements
- Electronic claims experience.
- Proven ability with billing software, such as PROMISE.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Solid work ethic and dedication to meeting deadlines.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
- Must satisfy Pennsylvania Act 33 and 34 requirements.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and a properly insured vehicle for daily use.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Submit weekly claims using state databases and in-house billing software systems.
- Resubmit, correct, and void claims as needed, including investigating and tracking rejected and denied claims.
- Process trade files and remittances from the Department of Public Welfare.
- Serve as a point of contact between program staff and billing staff regarding billing issues and adjustments.
- Attend meetings and work closely with software consultants.
- Assist the Billing Manager by providing documents and support for internal and external audits and monitoring.
- Complete revalidation applications with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
- Provide backup coverage for the Billing Specialist as needed.
