About The Position

The senior attendant guard assures the protection of the Garden, its staff, and visitors and enforces Garden rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Under the general direction of the manager of Security, they will supervise attendant guards, assist and coordinate an effective security team on assigned shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Three years’ satisfactory, paid experience in security protection, military, law enforcement, or equivalent experience in comparable field
Ability to pass written exam
Valid driver’s license
Valid NYS security license
Ability to walk and/or stand continuously
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or willingness to learn
Ability to be flexible
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

Prior union/ DC37 experience (for union positions)

Responsibilities

Assist in making schedule changes, adjust post coverage, and deploy personnel as conditions warrant.
Assist in orienting, training, and evaluating performance of attendant guards.
Inspect personal appearance of attendant guards at the beginning of each shift and while in the field.
Take appropriate action to correct performance deficiencies, violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and conditions involving imminent threat of harm to the Garden, staff, and/or visitors.
Assist in conducting investigations of security incidents on assigned shift.
Prepare written reports and required forms and maintain various logs and records.
Issue and control keys, radios, and other necessary equipment, supplies, and materials.
Perform other related duties or special projects as directed.
